According to a report by Markets and Markets, the future of global crypto asset management will grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21.5% from 2021-2026. Research And Markets is even more optimistic, reporting that the global blockchain market will grow at a CAGR of 82.4% from 2021 to 2028, reaching an estimated US$394.6 billion by 2028. From an asset allocation perspective, the continued growth of global crypto asset management can also be interpreted.
For high net worth clients, family offices, and university endowments, a moderate allocation to crypto assets represented by Bitcoin can be effective in fighting inflation, improving asset returns, and reducing overall asset volatility. Coinshares' November 2021 study shows that institutions currently allocate only about 1% of their assets to crypto assets on average. Given the hundreds of trillions of dollars of institutional assets under management, a 1% to 7% increase in size from the status quo would create a multi-trillion dollar market for crypto asset management.
